I came to Studio 168 for color and highlights - my usual stylist was out of town and I couldn't wait, so a friend of mine recommended Kristen here and I made an appointment. She did an amazing job on my highlights and color....even better than my usual girl does. I'm a convert, I'll be coming to Kristen for all my hair coloring and styling, she did an amazingly good job.

I got a great hair color at hair Studio 168. I wanted my color melted and I called a few salons and they did not know what I was talking about. Hair Studio 168 did a great job of melting the colors together for me. They also did something that added a lot of dimension to my hair. I just moved to the area and will be going here until I have to move back. Great prices also.

Best salon in Durham. I was referred to Hair Studio 168 Durham Salons, from a friend of mine. So my first time there they were great. I just love my hair, the salon is very clean and everyone there was very professional but yet entertaining. I will be going back.

Does a Great Job with Less than Perfect Hair I have had a problem with thinning hair for years. No matter what salon I went to it seemed like they could not get it right and I only ended up looking worse. Then I found Studio 168. They took my thinning hair and made it look like I have a lot more than I really do. No I don't have to wear a hat all the time anymore. Hat's off to you Studio 168!

Great Salon in Town! Super affordable & you can usually can get a special offer. I'm very fussy and always apprehensive when trying a new hair cut but it was me being way overdue for a haircut and I called to make an appointment - and they got me in right away. The long story short - Amber did a fantastic job!! I described how much maintainance I could manage - and she took care of the rest . . it was as simple as that!! Very quick too Great hours of operation - I love that they're open later. No complaints from me - I would still recommend this salon and I'm definitely planning on returning again.

Angie cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. I have had issues of showing people what I want then getting something different. Not the case at Studio 168. I will definitely be back.

Amber is fabulous! I transfered here because my stylist Amber moved to this store and I love it. The set up is great, and Amber is a genius. I recommend her to all of my friends. She understands my hair better than I do and is a genius with color. Her haircuts last for a really long time and if you find something wrong with it in the next week or so, which I never have, she allows you to pop in and get it fixed. Chris Norman, Master Craftsman I met Chris after a long battle to find an individual skilled in styling my hair, but, also putting some color on an otherwise gray male palette. Chris understood what I was trying to do, easy to talk to and is a master at what he does. I look no further in my quest, it has been found. Excellent service, why would you want to go anywhere else! Fantastic Fantastic, Fantastic, Fantastic.... That is all I have to say... I have been using this salon for many years and have never had a bad cut or color. I always get compliments on my hair! But recently this place has gotten better and better stylists. I went from a happy client, to I can't believe I look this fantastic. I think as long as you pick a master stylist there you will do fine. I saw some bad reviews posted here and they were probably done by newer stylists.. Who more then likely are no longer there... I would not even be writing this if I did not think you would love this place.

I was recommended to see Amber here from one of my co-workers, and I have had such a fabulous experience each time! The salon has a relaxing, warm vibe. Everyone is incredibly friendly and all have wicked senses of humor. And what can I say about Amber? She supported my decision to chop 9 inches off my hair and gave me the best style I have ever had! I have never received more compliments on anything that my short 'do courtesy of her work. She's receptive, innovative and takes her job incredibly seriously. This isn't Great Clips so those who complain about the price need to keep that in mind. I have walked out a satisfied customer for over almost two years. I would recommend Amber and Hair Studio 168 to anyone!

I found this salon via Yelp, so it is only fair that I review this place.  It is so hard to find a stylist you like and has fair prices, so I want to begin by saying that Studio 168 has fair prices and I was happy with my result.

This salon is open 7 days a week at your convenience so that gives it an extra star in my eyes.  I'd recommend getting a reservation in, bc although they take walk-ins, you never know what you will be dealing with.  I called less than 24 hours in advance, and was able to get in the next morning (Sun) at 10a. 

Jacquetta was my stylist.  She has been doing hair for over 13 years, and has been working at Salon 168 for 5 years.  She knows whats up!!!

I wanted highlights, and just mentioned I liked J-Lo's color.  She grabbed a magazine with her on the cover, and she knew what I wanted.  4 hours later, I got that color.  It's amazing!  I have THICK THICK FULL set of hair.  It always takes me a long time to do my hair bc I have too much of it.

The entire time, we had good conversation and she is easy to talk with.  She has been in Durham her entire life.  She did take care of another client while my hair was sitting and I just looked at a magazine. 

She also gave me a fresh new hair cut, and waxed my eyebrows and upper lip. 

If you call for reservations and mention you are a first time client, you get a 30% discount.  Check out their website.  After a cut, highlights, lowlights, eyebrow, and lip wax, my total was $150.  Of course I was a first time client, but I'll be back.  There was no "sticker shock", so to speak, as some other salons I have been too.
